Graduation is the formal academic recognition of the successful completion of an approved programme of study at Meadow Hall College of Education. Each year, the College organises a Graduation Ceremony to celebrate the achievements of eligible graduands. The ceremony also incorporates the mandatory TRCN Professional Induction for eligible graduates.
Yes, there will be a graduation ceremony. Students must successfully complete the required courses and the compulsory teaching practice. Additionally, a graduation fee will be required, and the specific amount will be communicated to the students prior to the graduation date.
To be eligible for graduation, a student must:
* Successfully complete all prescribed academic requirements for the approved programme.
* Successfully complete the compulsory Teaching Practice (where applicable).
* Be academically approved for graduation by the College.
* Fulfil all applicable graduation and administrative requirements published by the College.
Information relating to each year’s ceremony, including the date, venue, reporting time and other important arrangements, will be announced once confirmed by the College. Students are advised to monitor the official student platforms regularly for updates.
A Graduation Fee is payable by every graduating student. The Graduation Fee supports the administration of graduation activities and the Graduation Ceremony. Payment instructions will be communicated by the College.
Attendance at the Graduation Ceremony is expected of all eligible graduands.
The Graduation Ceremony represents the formal recognition of students’ academic achievements and is an important milestone in the life of every graduate. Students who are not participating in the TRCN Professional Induction are still expected to attend the Graduation Ceremony.
Graduands who genuinely cannot attend because of exceptional circumstances must obtain prior written approval from the Registrar. Failure to attend the Graduation Ceremony without prior approval may affect the timing and process for the release of the graduate’s certificate.
The College recognises that exceptional circumstances may occasionally prevent a graduand from attending the Graduation Ceremony.
Examples of acceptable circumstances include:
* Overseas residence or employment;
* Medical reasons;
* Other exceptional circumstances considered acceptable by the Registrar.
Graduands who are unable to attend must:
* Email the Registrar at registrar@meadowhalleducation.com
* Copy admissions@meadowhalleducation.com
* Submit their request at least two (2) weeks before the Graduation Ceremony;
* Clearly explain the reason for the request; and
* Await the Registrar’s written approval before making any alternative arrangements.
Approval is granted at the discretion of the Registrar and is not automatic.
Where approval is granted, the graduand may either:
* collect the certificate personally after the Graduation Ceremony; or
* authorise an approved proxy to collect the certificate on their behalf, subject to the College’s certificate collection procedures.
The Graduation Ceremony incorporates the mandatory Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) Professional Induction for eligible graduates.
The Professional Induction is an important and compulsory milestone for graduates who are completing their professional registration requirements through MHCOE.
Further information relating to the Professional Induction will be communicated to eligible graduands before the ceremony.
Graduands who have successfully completed all academic requirements at least two (2) months before the Graduation Ceremony and require official evidence of programme completion for employment, further studies or other legitimate purposes may request a Statement of Result.
Requests should be submitted by email to: admissions@meadowhalleducation.com
Each request will be processed following verification of the student’s academic records.
The Statement of Result is issued solely as official confirmation of successful programme completion prior to graduation and does not replace the official certificate.
